At SVEMS, we strive to inhabit physical fitness in our students as part of our curriculum.
What is Physical Fitness?
Physical fitness is any activity that involves moving your body. It includes everyday activities, physically active play, and organized sports and exercises. It can be light/moderate/vigorous physical activity, energetic play, or activities that strengthen muscles and bones.
Being physically active can improve brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of diseases, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Adults who sit less and do any amount of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity gain some health benefits. At SVEMS, we strive to inculcate physical fitness in our students as part of our curriculum by offering extracurricular activities that include:

Physical fitness in children: Physical fitness in children strengthens their bones, muscles, hearts, and lungs. Improves children’s coordination, balance, posture, and flexibility. It also helps children maintain a healthy weight. Physical activity boosts children’s well-being. For example, active children are more likely to be confident and feel like they belong as well as concentrate better at school. Physical activity is an important part of play and learning. Your child can do physical activity in small blocks of time throughout the day. The key thing is that your child does enough physical activity overall. And the more physical activity your child does and the less time your child spends sitting, the better it is for your child.
